Value

I wanted to show the difference between subtle value and high contrast with value, as you can see high contrast creates a more dynamic composition, where the low contrast picture is more peaceful, but still uses a wide range of value

Value

Value

So, I think this fits the assignment. This is "Peg Mirror" by Daniel Rozin. A camera captures spectators or objects facing the mirror, then mechanisms designed by the artist rotate the wood pegs to reflect light in a manner that mirrors these objects. So it is entirely value on these small wood pegs which create evolving images.

Geometric Islamic Art

Islamic patterns done by students.

Islamic Patterns

An Islamic pattern mosaic found on Hassan II Mosque, built in 1989. The mosque was completed to celebrate the 60th birthday of King Hassan II of Morocco.

A neat star polygon tessellation pattern. The star polygon expresses the perfection and balance of God's creation, endlessly repeating and endlessly variable. A tesselation reminds the viewer of infinity.
